Make a difference for yourself and your school.
You don’t have to move mountains to make a big difference for you and your school. Commit to small changes like 60 minutes of physical activity and healthy food choices through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.
It’s a fun and interactive program that benefits youth and empowers them to turn their ideas for a healthier school into reality. There’s a focus on “fueling up” with nutrient-rich foods like low-fat, fat free dairy foods, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. The other component is 60 minutes of “play” and physical activity every day.
Students involved in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program show improved self-esteem and higher levels of engagement in school as a result of eating right and exercising.
Parents are also an important part of the program and can participate as health champions to empower their children to make healthy, positive choices.
Fuel Up to Play 60 helps schools by supporting local school wellness policies and is also aligned with other national healthy school initiatives. Together, these policies work to reduce childhood obesity.
